Shipping Electronic Components from China to Philippines

From Jiangmen to Manila: Triple Difficulties behind a Small Shipment

On June 22nd, I received a special inquiry. This was a typical cross-border triangular trade: the supplier's factory was located in Jiangmen, Guangdong, the export was handled by a company in Shenzhen, the consignee was in the Philippines, and the payer was from Israel. The goods were electronic components, weighing only 132KG in total, and the client initially requested air freight door-to-port service.

Given the small volume and high value of the goods, I considered both economy and timeliness, designing 3 shipping options: LCL carton express (DDU), palletized express (DDU), and air freight DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) all-inclusive service, analyzing the advantages of each option in detail. The client readily chose option 3 and immediately provided the supplier's contact information, pick-up address, and delivery address in the Philippines.

However, the real challenge had only just begun. After contacting the factory and the authorized company, we discovered that the goods bore the brand logo. The brand owner had authorized S Technology Co., Ltd. to handle the export. However, this company was unfamiliar with the procedures for exporting goods requiring authorization and could not provide authorization quickly enough. Furthermore, customs clearance procedures for branded goods are complex; a formal brand authorization document is required to declare them as general cargo. Otherwise, they would be treated as sensitive goods, doubling the shipping costs.

To help the client secure the most favorable solution, I proactively contacted S Technology, guiding them step-by-step through the preparation of complete customs declaration documents. Simultaneously, I coordinated with the customs broker to handle the export declaration, ensuring a compliant and controllable process. Throughout the process, I kept the client informed of the progress, reassuring them and ensuring transparency.

In addition, to ensure safe transport, we provided three value-added services: free cargo insurance, free cover plates, and reinforced cargo with a grid-shaped steel strapping system to ensure the goods remained secure and undamaged during long-distance transport.

Ultimately, the client expressed high satisfaction with our service and placed their full trust in us.

In conclusion, although this order was not large in quantity, it involved multiple complex processes such as three-party trade, brand authorization, and customs clearance compliance. It was through proactive communication, step-by-step progress, and exceptional service that we ultimately won the client's trust. The value of logistics lies not only in shipping goods, but also in clearing away every unseen obstacle for our clients, becoming a reliable link in their supply chain.
